CM10 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on the HP TouchPad [ROM Review]

It just felt like a couple of days ago the CyanogenMod Team released CyanogenMod 9 and just within a couple of months of the release of Jelly Bean 4..1.1 the CyanogenMod Team has done it again. They have released Jelly Bean CyanogenMod 10 and a preview version for the HP Touchpad!

Known Issues: (Keep in mind this is a preview version)
* Microphone is not functional
* Audio is not functional
* Camera is not functional (Just like in CyanogenMod 9)

How to Install JellyBean 4.1.1 CM10 on HP Touchpad

YOU MUST already have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your tablet!

1. Download the links above

2. Transfer both zip files onto your tablet.

(Mac users - Use Android File Transfer to transfer the files)

3. Enter into ClockworkMod Recovery Mode. (Power off your tablet > Turn it back on > Select ClockworkMod Recovery

4. Select "wipe cache partition" after that is complete go into Advanced > "Wipe Dalvik Cache".

5. Now select "Install zip from sdcard" > "Choose zip from sdcard" > Find "cm-10-20120801-UNOFFICIAL-tenderloin-not_ready_yet.zip" and select "Yes".

6. Select "Choose zip from sdcard" > Find "gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip" and select "Yes"

7. Go back and 'Reboot System Now". Wait for about 10 minutes and you tablet will be on CyanogeMod 10!

How to Install FoxHound ROM for Galaxy Nexus [GSM] [ICS]

You MUST have ClockworkMod Recovery installed!

1. Download the ROM file from the link above

2. Transfer the zip file into your internal SD card of your phone

3. Enter into Bootloader Mode (Power off your device, hold the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration and see a green start screen you have entered into Bootloader Mode)

4. Press volume up twice and power button to select "Recovery"

5. Choose "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" then go back and choose "Wipe Cache Partiton" then go back and choose advanced and select "Clear Dalvik Cache".

5. Go back > Install zip from SD card > Choose zip from SD card > Find file "FoxHound_0.6_GSM_4.0.4_Black....zip" and select "Yes".

6. Wait until the process is complete > Go Back > Reboot System Now > Wait 10 minutes
and you can start to use FoxHound ROM on your Galaxy Nexus!

Written Guide on How to Install CM10 Jelly Bean ROM for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989!

WARNING! CM10 Version 0.3 is unstable and is HIGHLY NOT recommended to use this as a daily driver. You can try this rom and see how you like it, but PLEASE go back to your old rom when you are done trying it out!!

You MUST have ClockworkMod Recovery installed. If you don't click HERE

1. Download CM10 ROM, JB Gapps, and Darkside Super Wipe here:

Download JB Gapps

Download Darkside Super Wipe

--> .. 2. DO NOT unzip any of the files. If you do then you MUST download the unzipped files again. Transfer the zip files into your internal or external SD card phone's memory.

3. Enter into ClockworkMod Recovery mode (Hold down the volume up, volume up down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding onto the volume up and down button.)

4. Install zip from SD card > Choose zip from SD card > Find "DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip" and select "Yes".

5. Choose zip from SD card > Find "T989Kang_0.3.zip" and select "Yes"

6. Choose zip from SD card > Find "gapps-jb-20120717.zip" and select "Yes"

7. Go back and "Reboot System Now"

8. Wait 10 minutes and start enjoying your CM10 Jelly Bean!

This guide will show you how to flash (install) custom roms, themes, tweaks, and mod that are used through ClockworkMod Recovery. This guide will work for any type of Galaxy Nexus device including GSM,Verizon, and Sprint.

MUST HAVE ClockworkMod Recovery installed to flash / install zip files

Install ClockworkMod Recovery Galaxy Nexus [GSM/Verizon/Sprint] [Windows]

Install ClockworkMod Recovery Galaxy Nexus [GSM/Verizon/Sprint] [Mac]

How to Flash / Install Custom Rom:
1. Transfer the zip file / files to your phone's internal memory.

2. Enter into bootloader mode (Power off your device, hold the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time)

3. You will now be on a green start screen. Press the volume up 2x and power button to select "Recovery".

4. ALWAYS do a factory reset until your told specifially told not to or you will brick your phone!!
Tap on "Factory Reset" > "Yes".

5. "Install zip from SD card" > "Choose zip from card" > find the file that you transfered to your phone earlier. Select it and press "Yes".

6. If you had to transfer 2 files then 9/10 times you probably had one zip file that was the custom rom and the other file was named "gapps" (Google apps)
Flash the custom rom first then the gapps second.

7. Go back and reboot your phone.

8. Wait at least 10 minutes and your phone should have a custom rom! Enjoy!

How to Flash / Install Themes, Tweaks, and Mods
1. Transfer the zip file / files to your phone's internal memory.

2. Enter into bootloader mode (Power off your device, hold the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time)

3. You will now be on a green start screen. Press the volume up 2x and power button to select "Recovery.

4. "Install zip from SD card" > "Choose zip from SD card" > find the file that you transfered earlier and select it. > "Yes"

5. "Go Back" > "Reboot System Now"

Now you will have your theme, tweak, or mod installed on your phone! Enjoy!

How to Unroot Any Android Device! [Universal Guide]

I will be showing you how to unroot your Android device. This will work for about 99% of all Android device so chances are that it will work for your phone.

You must have ES File Explorer on your phone.

1. Open ES FIle Explorer

2. Tap on Otptions > Settings > Check mark "Root Explorer" > Check mark "Mount File System"

3. Go back and tap the favorite (located on top of the screen) and tap the "/".

4. Go to "System" > "Bin" > Delete "su"(If you can't find the su file it's okay. Not all su files are put here)

5. Go back to "System" > "Xbin" > Delete "su"

You might have it in "Bin","Xbin" or in both places. As long as you have it in 1 of the places your fine.

6. Go back to "System" > "App" > Delete "SuperUser" apk.

You are now unrooted!

How to Get Free WiFi Tethering / Hotspot on Samsung Galaxy Nexus! [GSM/Verizon/Sprint]

I have tested this method on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus Device and it seems to work but please KEEP IN MIND that I am in no way responsible if you get charged from your carrier for using WiFI tethering/hotspot.

Use this method at your own risk! It has been tested and seems to work.

You MUST have a rooted phone. If you Galaxy Nexus isn't rooted click Here for Windows and Here for Mac on the tutorial.

Step 1: Download WiFi Tether for Root Users app here:

Step 2: Open up the app and tap of Options symbol > Settings > Change Device Profile

Step 3: Select "Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM" or "Galaxy Nexus CDMA/LTE"

Step 4: Go back to the main menu and tap on the big WiFi icon to turn it on

Step 5: It will ask for Super User permission "Grant" the permission

Step 6: Go onto your computer and look for "AndroidTether" under WiFi networks

Step 7: Connect to that network and you can start using 4G/3G on your computer via Galaxy Nexus GSM/CDMA.

Tips: You can change the name of the WiFI network & put a password. You can find it all under settings.

How to Unlock Bootloader [GSM/Verizon/Sprint] [Mac]

Unlocking your bootloader is the first step to root your phone or to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your phone. Why would you want to root your phone? So you can unlock/overclock, backup app data, acces super important system files, and much more! Why would I want to install ClockworkMod recovery? To flash custom roms, theme, tweaks, and mods.

When you unlock your bootloader it will void your warranty but if you ever need to send it back to the manufacture you can always just lock the bootloader again and the manufacture will never find out.

1. Going into Settings > Developer Options > Turn on USB debugging

2. Plug your phone in your computer via microUSB

3. Download and unzip the toolkit here:

4. In the folder open "Click Me.tool"

5. Press enter and it will unlock your bootloader automatically.

6. Press the power button to reboot and your bootloader will now be unlocked!

4. Extract the zip file

5. Move the extract folder to your "Downloads" folder

6. Open "Terminal"

7. Type and press enter after the end of each line

./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader
./fastboot-mac flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxla02.img
./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader
./fastboot-mac -w update image-yakju-imm76i.zip

Type ./fastboot-mac oem lock if you are planning on sending your phone back to your carrier or manufacture.

8. Once your phone has rebooting you will be on a fresh stock 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for your Galaxy Nexus i9250 GSM

ClockworkMod Recovery is essential in getting the full experience out of your Android device. ClockworkMod Recovery lets you install custom roms, root your device, and lets your flash updates/ fixes. ClockworkMod Recovery lets you access and enjoy your phone in a new way and best of all it doesn't void you phone's warranty.

This will work on any Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM,Verizon,Sprint) and on any Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich versions.

This will delete EVERYTHING on your phone!

Step 1: Download the zip file here:

Step 2: Open the zip file so Mac will automatically extract it

Step 3: Transfer the extracted file to your downloads folder

Step 4: Open Terminal and type:

cd Downloads
cd GalaxyNexusRecovery
./fastboot-mac oem unlock

Step 5: Plug your phone via microUSB and enter into bootloader mode (Press volume up, volume down, and power button until you feel a vibration)

Step 6: Press volume up and power button to select "Yes" ( It says may void warranty, don't worry because you can always lock the booloader if you want)

Step 7: Go back to Terminal and type:

Type for GSM:
./fastboot-mac flash recovery GSM_recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-maguro.img

Type for Verizon:
./fastboot-mac flash recovery Verizon_recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-toro.img

Type for Sprint:
./fastboot-mac flash recovery Sprint_recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-toroplus.img

Step 8: Enter into ClockworkMod Recovery Mode (First enter into Bootloader Mode then press volume up twice and power to select "Recovery")

Step 9. Enjoy flashing custom roms, themes, tweaks, and much more!

Make sure you have correct drivers installed - Here

1. Plug in your phone to your computer via microUSB

2. Download Galaxy Nexus Toolkit here:

3. You have options for GSM Unlocked, GSM USA, CDMA LTE Verizon, and CDMA LTE Sprint. Find the correct category for your phone.

4. In the subcategory you will see Android version and build number. To find the correct version and build number go into "Settings" on your phone then all the way down to "About Phone". You will see Android version and build number.

5. Select the correct number on the toolkit and tap enter

6. Select "Unlock Bootloader" number and tap enter

7. Type "Yes" and eneter

8. It will now say "waiting for device". We are going to enter into bootloader mode. Make sure you phone is unplugged. Power off your phone then hold down all three buttons until you see "Start" on the screen.

9. Plug you phone in the computer ( you computer should detect your phone as long as you have the correct drivers install, if you don't then look at the top of the page to the link on how to install the correct drivers}

10. On your phone screen you will see the "Yes" and "No" option. Press the volume up button and Power button to select "Yes"

11. Return back to the main menu and select 6 to "Flash Custom Recovery Touch or TWRP Touch"

12. Choose "1" to select, "Flash ClockworkMod Touch Recovery".

13. It will say completed and it will return bac to the main menu
