How to Unroot/Unbrick Galaxy Note Edge!

Follow this step-by-step guide to completely unroot/unbrick the Galaxy Note Edge and bring it back to complete factory settings. This guide is straightforward and just follow the steps and your phone will be back to original settings just like the day you first bought it. 

Unroot/Unbricking the Galaxy Note Edge will:

• Remove any custom ROMS
• Remove any custom Recovery (TWRP/CWM)
• Restore your phone back to factory settings
• Remove any and all signs of root
• Unbrick your phone if it's in a bootloop.

This will remove all information from your international storage, backup any important information!

Follow the guide below to unroot/unbrick the Galaxy Note Edge!

1. Enter into Download Mode. Power off your phone then press and hold the volume up, home button, and power button all the same time. 

2. You will now see "Warning" on the screen. Press the volume up to continue. 

3. Now the phone will show "Downloading..."

4. Plug in your phone via microUSB to your phone. Plug in the USB side directly into a USB 2.0 port. 

5. Download Odin3_v3.10.6.zip and the correct stock firmware for your Galaxy Note Edge using the download links below.

Download Samsung stock firmware

6. Unzip both Odin3_v3.10.6.zip and the stock firmware that you downloaded in step 5. When you unzip the stock firmware it should now end in md5. 

7. Open up Odin3 v3.10.6.exe and you should see a blue box on the left. If you don''t then download and install Samsung USB drivers and restart your computer.

8. Click on "AP" and locate the md5 stock firmware file you unzipped in step 6. 

9. Odin may show "Not Responding", just wait until it goes away!

10. Click on "Start" and Odin will start to flash the stock Samsung firmware on your Galaxy Note Edge. This can take up to 10 minutes, be patient!  

11. The Galaxy Edge will now automatically restart with Samsung stock firmware flashed but, we're not done yet. 

12. Completely power off your phone, then press and hold the volume up, home button, and power button all at the same time. Keep holding until you see small blue text on the screen.

13. Move down to "wipe data/factory reset" and then select "Yes -- delete all user data".

14. Now select "wipe cache partition". 

15. Lastly, select "reboot system now".

16. You're done! You phone is now fully unrooted, unbricked, and restored back to complete stock. The phone is now even safe enough to be sent back to your carrier if you'd like!

This guide will remove ALL user data including pictures, documents, music, EVERYTHING! Back it up!!

Follow the guide below to get started to unrooting and restoring the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge back to complete factory settings! 

1. With your phone unplugged, we're going to enter into Download Mode. Power off your phone and press and hold the volume down, home button, and power button all at the same time.

2. You should see "Warning" on the screen. Press the volume up to continue.

3. You will now see "Downloading...".

4. Plug in your phone via microUSB to your computer. If you have the official Samsung USB cable, use it.

5. Download Odin3_v3.10.6.zip and the correct stock firmware using the download links below.

6. Unzip the stock firmware you downloaded in step 5. The unzip file should end in "XXXX.md5".

7. Unzip Odin3_v3.10.6.zip and open up Odin3 v3.10.6.exe.

8. You should see a blue box on the left side of Odin that reads something similar to "0:[COM15]", if you don't then download and install Samsung USB drivers. 

9. In Odin click on "AP", locate and select the md5 file you unzipped in step 6. Odin may show "Not Responding", just wait!

10. Click on "Start" and wait until the process is over. This can take up to 15 minutes so be patient!! (If you get "FAIL!" check the FAQ sections at the bottom of the article).

11. Once the process is completed you will see "PASS!" and your phone will automatically reboot. Your phone can take up to 10 minutes to fully boot up the first time, be patient! 

Your phone is now restored to stock Samsung firmware, but keep following the rest of the steps to completely wipe the device. 

12. Completely power off your phone. Now press and hold the volume up, home button, and power button all at the same time until you see small blue text on the screen.

13. Using the volume up/down and power button navigate down to "wipe data/factory reset" > select    "Yes -- delete all user data".

14. Now select "wipe cache partition".

15. Once that is complete select "reboot system now". Your phone will now boot up like usual, but it may take up to 10 minutes so be patient!

16. You are now done! You have successfully restored your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge back to complete stock. Your phone is now safe enough to send back to Samsung/carrier without them having any of your personal information or knowing you ever rooted your phone.

FAQ: 

Q: Odin says "There is no PIT partition".
A: Use the official Samsung USB cable and change the USB port.

Q: My phone is stuck on the Samsung logo.
A: Wait at least 15 minutes and if you are still stuck on the Samsung logo then follow steps 12-14.

Q: Odin doesn't show a blue box even though my phone is in Download Mode and is plugged into my computer.
A: Download and install Samsung USB drivers and then reboot your computer.

Q: Will this guide completely unroot my Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and restore it to stock?
A: Yes, any and all signs of root will be removed and you will be restored back to stock Samsung firmware.

Q: Odin showed "FAIL!".

8. Unplug your phone and press the volume down up you see "Recovery mode". Then press the power button. 

9. You might see a Android figure laying down with a red triangle. To fix this press the volume up, down, and power button at the same time for 5 or 6 times in a row until you see text on the screen. 

10. Once you see text on the screen navigate down to "wipe data/factory reset" and select "Yes -- delete all user data". You can navigate by using the volume up/down and power button. This will take about 5 minutes, be patient!

11. Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and select it. 

12. Lastly, select "reboot system now".

13. Now your phone will fully boot up with the setup screen, just like the day you first bought the Nexus 6! All signs of rooting, ROMS, custom recoveries, or modding has been completely removed!

4. Unzip Odin3v185 and then open up Odin3v185.exe. You should see a box highlighted in yellow in the left part in Odin. If you don't see a yellow box download and install Samsung USB drivers and re-open Odin. 

5. Unzip the stock firmware you downloaded in step 3, in that folder you will see a file that ends in tar.md5.

6. In Odin click on "PDA", then locate and select the tar.md5 file. 

7. Check that only "Auto Reboot" and "PDA" are checked marked! 

8. Click "Start". You can keep track of the progress with the green status bar in Odin and a status bar on your Note 4. It will take around 5-10 minutes. 

9. Once Odin says "PASS!" you can unplug your phone.

10. You will see an Android figure on the Note 4's screen. Wait until you see  "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" and then take out the battery and put it back in. 

11. We're now going to enter into Recovery Mode! Hold the volume up, home center, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding onto the volume up and home button. 

You can navigate in Recovery Mode by using the volume up/down and power button.

12. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and choose "Yes". 

13. Now choose "reboot system now". 

14. Wait until your phone is completely powered on and you're done! You have fully unroot, unbricked, and reset your phone back to complete stock. 

FAQ: 
Q: Odin shows a blue box instead of a yellow box that you mentioned on step 4. 
A: That's fine. As long as it shows a blue or yellow box continue to the next step.

Q: The yellow box isn't being show in Odin. 
A: If you haven't already, install the Samsung USB drivers, change the USB ports, and use the original Samsung USB cable that came with the Note 4. If any of those suggestions don't work switch to a different computer. 

Q: Will this reset my flash counter back to 0?
A: Currently there isn't a method to reset the flash counter on the Galaxy Note 4, as soon as a possible method is available I will make a guide for it!

6. Make sure only "Auto Reboot" and "PDA" is check marked. Then click on "Start". This process will take about 4-8 minutes.

7. Once Odin is complete it will show "Pass".

Your phone will now fully boot up and you will be on stock Samsung Touchwiz, but your apps, app data, contacts, text message, etc will be still on your phone. 

If you want to remove everything or if you got stuck in a boot loop during this part keep following the rest of the steps.

8. Unplug your phone and power off your phone. (If your stuck in a boot loop just keep holding down the power button until it turns off).

9. Press and hold the volume up, home button, and power button at all the same time. You should be entering into stock recovery.

10. Select "wipe data/factory reset" then choose "yes".

11. After that select "wipe cache partition" and choose "yes".

12. Finally select "reboot system now" and your phone will completely boot up with all the user data deleted.

FAQ: 

Q: Odin doesn't show the yellow box when my phone is in Download Mode and plugged into my computer. 

A: Make sure your using the original Samsung USB cable, change USB ports, install Samsung USB drivers, and restart your computer. 

Q: Does this reset Know counter? 

A: No this does not reset Knox counter.
